Peter Criss's self-titled album is his first solo release. Peter Criss, who drums for the American hard rock band Kiss, launched this album alongside solo albums from other Kiss members on September 18, 1978. Despite being under the Kiss label, it's a solo effort by Criss. Produced by Vini Poncia, known for later producing albums like Dynasty (1979) and Unmasked (1980) for Kiss, the album marked a new musical journey for Criss outside of the band.
