Windows Vista Build 5384
This is Windows Vista build 5384 (5384.4.winmain_beta2.060518-1455). This is the official Beta 2 build of Windows Vista which was released to the public along with its Server counterpart on 23 May 2006. This build was compiled on 2006-05-18 and expired on 2007-05-31.
How I got this to run:
I used VMware Workstation Pro 16.2.3 with backwards compatibility with VMware Workstation 10.0.
This build was difficult for me to get working properly as the Control Panel stopped working properly after the first restart. I could not find a solution for this online as most videos showed the build working flawlessly, but I found that scheduling a disk check and restarting fixed this issue (temporarily. You have to run a disk check after every restart).
My settings:
4 GB RAM
2 CPU cores (I recommend trying 1 core instead. A viewer had informed me that multiple CPU cores can be the cause for some issues such as the Control Panel missing. I have not tested if this works, but I'd suggest to give it a try)
40 GB IDE HDD
Network Attached
OS set to Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
3D Acceleration enabled.
Drivers: Use the VMware Workstation 11 WDDM driver and use the 7.0 drivers for Audio and VMCI.
