PLC Object Sorting System based on Color and Shape - Experimental results
In this project, a prototype of an object sorting system in industrial is built. In terms of hardware, it included a camera, PLC Siemens S7-200, industrial elements (button, contactor, sensor, cylinder, etc.).
When a product passes the sensor, the camera will capture the image and identify the color and shape, classify the type of this object on Matlab. Then commanding the PLC to control the corresponding cylinder to push it as preset via OPC Server. With this system, users can choose to sort objects with 6 colors and 3 shaped randomly into 3 trays.
