SageTV OpenDCT Conversion Part 1 (4K)
Did you know the program guide service in SageTV is shutting down July 1st 2017? Are you using SageTV with SageDCT? In this episode we take a look at how to convert your SageTV installation using SageDCT to OpenDCT.
This is part 1 of a 2 part series where I move move entire SageTV version 7 to version 9, and this is the first step.
Steps: (courtesy of SageTV Forum member Daweeze)
1) Downloaded the latest OpenDCT installer below
2) Stop the SageTV and SageDCT Services, Changed Startup Type to Disabled or Manaul.
3) Make a complete back up of you SageTV folder or at the very least make a Copy of Sage.properties and Wiz.bin files.
4) Installed OpenDCT.
5) Run "OpenDCT Run as Console".
6) Reboot the Computer.
7) Edit and Save the Sage.properties settings from network_encoder_discovery=false to network_encoder_discovery=true.
8) Start the SageTV Service and set back to Automatic.
9) Start SageTV (May have a long load time)
10) Setup up Video Sources.
11) Complete setup for all video sources
12) Close SageTV
13) Stop the SageTV service, yet again.
14) Edit the sage.properties file, yet again
15) Delete all SageDCT entries.
16) Reopen SageTV and Check to make sure your old SageDCT video sources are gone.
17) YOUR DONE! :~)
