"One of the most interesting things that comes out of the happiness economics literature for me is that our actual income doesn't have a huge imprint on our happiness, our relative income, relative to the peer group we're comparing ourselves to does and that is really weird so kind of getting people to think about how do I measure progress, what does progress actually look like for me and encouraging people to compare themselves to themselves last week and yesterday and also think about how they're moving towards that big thinking goal", Dr Grace Lordan discussed with me about focusing on yourself not your peers on Episode 6 of the Reframe & Reset Your Career podcast. Grace is the author of "Think Big" which was published earlier this year.

Grace Lordan is the Founding Director of The Inclusion Initiative (TII), Director of the MSc in Behavioural Science and an Associate Professor in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Grace has a PhD in Economics, and an undergraduate degree in computer science. Her research is focused on understanding why some individuals succeed in life and others don't. She is an expert on the effects of bias, discrimination and technology changes. Grace is an expert advisor to the UK government sitting on their skills and productivity board. Her academic writings have been published in top international journals in economics and the broader social sciences. Grace is a regular keynote and panel speaker at corporate events.

Grace is the author of "Think Big". If you would like to know about Grace and her work, more information is available on her website: https://www.gracelordan.com/
