Long time. No Update. My laptop is working now so updates should be fairly frequent until school starts.
I'll win back your love ;)

Niall's P.O.V.:
Somewhere in the mix of unspoken apologies and commercial breaks we ended up in bed. Sweet kisses and loving movements, things not often used in bed with us, turned into frantic thrusts and screamed names and being glad that no one lives in the flat next door to Zayn.
I don't even know how long we went at it or what time it is now, but I'm happy; really, REALLY happy. Just being here with Zayn. My arms lazily wrapped around my tan lover's torso and one of his palms brushing softly through my messy and sweaty hair.
Zayn reaches his other arm to open the side table drawer and I perch myself up slightly on my stomach to see what he's doing. I sigh and go back to lying on his chest once I see the box of Malboros and the lighter. Zayn always smokes after sex. Always. I've come used to the scent of it. It clings to Zayn's clothing like cologne and it just smells of him.
I surprise myself when I ask, "Can I try?"
Zayn raises his eyebrows but doesn't deny me. He takes a drag from the cigarette then hands it to me. I look attentively between the fag and Zayn. I've never smoked a day in my life. Zayn smiles tenderly at me and I feel my cheeks heat up.
"S'fine." Zayn mutters. "Just put it up to your mouth and... breathe in."
I do as he says, putting the unlit side of the cigarette to my lips and breathing in slowly through my mouth, inhaling the smoke. I immediately break into a fit of coughs. Zayn chuckles. My hand goes to my mouth, trying to soften my quick coughs. He takes the cigarette from me and puts it to his own lips. "It takes getting used to. Come here."
My whole face must be red as I pull myself up and shuffle around so I'm sitting on his lap. I watch closely as Zayn take a long draw off the cig. He wraps his palm around the back of my neck and pulls me in so our lips connect. Mouth open against mine, Zayn breathes out, pushing the smoke into my own mouth.
Holy fucking shit that was hot.
I groan against Zayn lips and shut my eyes. "God, do that again." I beg and Zayn chuckles, pulling back and once again inhaling the smoke and breathing it into my mouth. It's like we're breathing in sync. Together.
I sigh and slide down so my head is resting against his chest. My arms wrap around his back and hang loosely by the small of his back and his rest over my shoulder blades, playing with the ends of my hair.
I love you.
I almost say it.
I almost blurt it out and ruin everything.
I almost give myself away.
I have to bite down harshly on my lip to keep myself from saying it. But how can I not love him? He's so dark and mysterious but so sweet and sensitive and he's just so NOT my type! I had always imagined that I would find some nice girl, date casually for a few years, propose, we'd move back to Ireland together, have a couple kids and in the evenings she'd knit while I read the paper.
I had NEVER imagined this. But this... this is so perfect. So perfect in the most corny and awfully rom-com-y way. However dysfunctional we are. We're still perfect. Just like this.
Thank god Zayn interrupts my thoughts before I begin to fantasize about kids and a cottage in the woods. But I was never prepared for what he says.
"He beat me." Zayn mutters into my hair.
"What?" I ask, raising my head to look at him. But Zayn keeps his hand pressed to the back of my head, keeping my face in his chest.
Okay. I can roll with this.
"My dad." He rushes, like he can't bear to say it. I tighten my grip on his torso as I let the information sink in. His dad beat him. That's the secret. That's why he's dreading dinner with his father, why he never speaks of his family. That's why he's doesn't get attached.
It all lines up in my head as the information finally connects.
