Denaturation of mitochondria by iron chelating agent ー 鉄キレート剤によるミトコンドリアの変性 ー
Iron(Fe) is one of the most essential metal for our living bodies. Because Fe is essential for function of mitochondria, the lack of Fe damages mitochondria. This movie shows the effect of Fe chelator on mitochondria inside living cells. Adding 100μM deferoxamine, a medication that binds Fe, on HeLa cells, mitochondria shortened was observed after 15 hours.

Hela細胞に鉄を除去する作用を持つ鉄キレート剤（Deferoxamine）を100μMを添加したところ、
添加15時間過ぎからミトコンドリアの長さが短く変性している様子が確認できました。
