Giuseppe dall’Abaco, Capriccio primo, Shirley Hunt
This is the first of a set of 11 Capricci for solo violoncello written by Giuseppe (Joseph) Maria Clément Ferdinand dall'Abaco that are preserved only in an undated manuscript. It was performed by Shirley Hunt on a Baroque cello made in 1775 in London by William Forster II, using a bow was made in Montreal in 2006 by Louis Begin. The concert took place on 28 February 2016 as part of the twelfth season of Early Music at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake IL USA.
