"London is dead?" No wonder this wasn't released as a single in the UK! It was, however, released in the US, peaking at #13 on Billboard magazine's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.
Appearing on Morrissey's lean and muscular solo LP Your Arsenal, Glamorous Glue was written by Morrissey (lyrics) and Alain Whyte (music). Whyte wrote the majority of the music on Your Arsenal, which many critics and fans cite as his best solo work, alongside Vauxhall and I and his debut solo effort, Viva Hate.
Morrissey performed a version of this song on Saturday Night Live after the release of Your Arsenal.
Performed by The Smiths Tribute NYC in 2023 at the legendary Bowery Ballroom, where Moz himself performed in 2009.
