Lewis Hamilton Wants SICK Battle With Max And Alonso

Lewis started off by expressing his joy at getting on the podium again

“It's been great to be on the podium two races in a row. It's really fantastic for us”

He then explained why he feels that they are getting closer to the front while highlighting that they do need to think about next year’s car

“We were also running fourth in Monaco, so we're definitely getting closer”

“It's going to be a battle of development, I guess, over the rest of the season”

“I reckon Max's team are already working on next year's car, so we need to take our eye a little bit off the ball and focus on next year also”

He then revealed that he isn’t frustrated anymore

“It's not a frustration anymore, if it ever was. There's nothing I can do about their amazing performance”

“It's not easy with the regulations to find the amount of performance that they have advantage-wise”

He signed off by hoping for a much closer title fight

“I'm happy to firstly be back in the mix and I'm just hoping at some stage we can have a little bit more level so we can get back to some of the good races we had back in 2021”

“And to have all three of us in a super tight battle would be sick”

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso thinks that “the sprint weekend will not be ideal for [them]”

“With our new upgraded car, we still need to understand and optimise the package a little bit”

“In Austria, obviously with the sprint, we will have only FP1 to do that”

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc explained that “the feeling with the car [in Canada] was great, we did a good strategy”

Mercedes driver George Russell is “kicking [himself] because such a small error has big consequences”

“That’s how it is on circuits like this. So, kicking myself from my side”

For McLaren’s Lando Norris, his penalty in Canada “doesn’t make sense”

“I was what 3 seconds, 4 seconds behind my delta. Everyone quite often is”

“If it’s because of the delta difference, most people should be given penalties for the last three years, four years”

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz feels that they were “perfect [at the Canadian GP]. We nailed it”

“So, it would be nice if [the media] could give some credit to the team”

Do you think that Verstappen, Hamilton, and Alonso will be involved in a title fight together next season?
