So in this continuation of my using old source code video tutorial series I show you how to compile and run old, deprecated OpenGL Source code from the book, "OpenGL Game Programming" by Kevin Hawkins and David Astle. For this lesson we will be using CodeBlocks.
UPDATE:
The old method of installing MinGW into the install directory of the MinGW version of CodeBlocks no longer works! I will work on another solution as needed. For now simply installing the latest, 13+ version of CodeBlocks, the MinGW version, should be sufficient.
MinGW has changed their installation process. I don't know how it works or how to install it right now. This will take some research. But as long as I run into no errors of missing MinGW components, I am not going to worry about it.
Also DirectX and OpenGL are not linked to anymore. Instead I am using something called AllCode, a compilation of all DirectX, OpenGL and Windows SDK lib and include files. Only that is linked to, and this process, for CodeBlocks, is detailed in Episode 10 of this series:
