Kate Davies, Architectural Association, Design and Make at Hooke Park: »Unknown Fields: Tales from the Dark Side of the City«
Kate Davies is a visual artist, architect and founding director of Unknown Fields, a nomadic design studio she leads together with Liam Young. Over the last 15 years, Kate and Liam have run expeditions to remote parts of the globe – behind the scenes of the modern city - to document the infrastructural landscapes that manifest as direct and indirect consequences of urban environments. This talk is about the work of Unknown Fields, exploring the interwoven complexity of these territories, as dynamic flows of matter and narrative. Kate also teaches at the Architectural Association London, where she is Head of Hooke Park (the AA’s satellite campus in Dorset) and Co-Director of the AA Design + Make programme.
