Displaying - the human microbiome

If we look back in history, humans have often seen
themselves as a separated from nature. The rational and clean man - and the driven, dirty nature. Nowadays probably even more so than ever before. But the human microbiome shows that we are an inseparable part of nature and vice versa. The microbiome is the
sum of all microorganisms that live on or in the human body and without which we could not survive. Based on this, the project "Displaying" deals with the question of how the microbiome of the skin can be mapped three-dimensionally and which scientific and
creative-artistic values can be derived from it. The project is divided into 3 sections: mapping, visualization and empowerment. At the end - the empowerment - a personalized facial jewelry is created, which makes a part of our individual microbiome visible
and shows us an ignored part of our identity.
