Ladies and Gentlemen, today we’re going to make some god-tier op cluckers and you’re going to love every minute of it.

This is the first video in my new series, minecraft mods for grownups, where we look at cool mods and see how to absolutely break the game with them!

And where better to start than with the Chicken Mod.

Built for Minecraft 1.12, The Chicken mod adds resource pooping chickens to the game. With the addition of a couple of side mods, you can set up systems like this that automatically generate massive amounts of pretty much anything you could want.

Recommended side mods include:

More Chickens - which adds even more chickens to the game, including chickens from several other popular mods
Roost - which gives you better chicken control
Drawers - which give you the ability to store massive amounts of each resource produced by your chickens
Extra Utilities - which we use here to transport and organize items
JEI - to easily see how to obtain the different kinds of chickens through breeding.
Project E and Project EX - for some of the utility blocks it provides, such as the pedestal and watches of time, but also because the chickens can quickly produce high emc value items, giving you an insane amount of resources really, really quickly. If you thought Project E was op before, it’s even worse with Chickens. And that’s why I love it.

You can get started with the Chicken mod almost immediately upon starting your game. You just need to find a chicken, wait for it to lay an egg, and then kill it to collect its feathers.

Combine them with a stick as you see on screen and you create a chicken catcher.

Now, you hunt chickens in the overworld and nether.

Before we get into the base chicken types, this is how to create a breeder and a roost. Breeders are used to create new types of chickens and the roosts are used to create the resources. They’re both really easy recipes.

Now, base chickens include the normal chicken, the sand chicken, the wood chicken, the flint chicken and the bone white chicken. From the nether you get the soul sand chicken and the nether quartz chicken.

You can use dyes to change normal eggs. For example, a normal egg dyed blue will give you a lapis chicken - which is an amazing EMC farm for early game.

You can breed your chickens to create god-tier chickens. They produce resources more quickly and tend to have better chances of giving you your desired chicken when cross-breeding.

Which is how you get the rest of the chickens! For example, if you want red stone, you first take a normal egg and dye it red, to get a red chicken. Then you cross breed the red chicken with a sand chicken to get a redstone dust chicken.

Once you get 10/10/10 level chicken, you just place them in roosts and connect them to some sort of storage system. In this case, I’m using the Extra Utilities piping and item extractors, but simple hoppers going into a chest will work just fine.

If you want to speed things up, build a Pedestal and a Watch of Time from the Project E mod pack. This greatly increases the chicken’s production rate and… it’s pretty crazy how many resources you can generate this way.

So… let’s say you want some diamonds. We all love diamonds, right?

Here are some max level chickens, a few roosts and some pedestals… lemme just turn this on real quick.

Tell me that doesn’t make you smile :D

I’m starting an all the mods 6 server. If you want to play along and be part of future videos, check out the info in the description.

We’ll be showcasing the Project E mod next. So subscribe and turn on notifications so YouTube will notify you when it’s released. Until then, I’ll see you in game.
