Jazz, funk, soul and blues - all of this you can listen to at Jazz Rally. Every year at Pentecost, the entire Duesseldorf city center becomes a stage - indoor and outdoor. From slow and quiet to loud and stirring, people dance on the streets and in the bars. Live music everywhere, pure joie de vivre.
It's officially three full days, but the party starts already on thursday evening with a concert in Rheinterrassen. Many bands play for free on the streets, for all other concerts there are extra tickets or the jazz rally button. You pay for it once and you have access to all concerts every day (however, a seat must be reserved for the three large concerts on Burgplatz).
250,000 - 300,000 music lovers celebrate on the three jazz rally days in the city, meanwhile the festival has a long tradition. It all started in 1993, in those days under the name Brussels Jazz Rally. The Jazz Rally Düsseldorf is by far the most visited jazz festival in Germany. There are real highlights among the artists, most recently Sister Sledge, Aloe Blacc and Gregory Porter. German stars are also often on stage, including Roger Cicero, Die Fantastischen Vier and Jan Delay.
