Welcome to MTHFR Support™.
In this video we will be introducing the methylation report.
The methylation report is a popular genetic report for understanding what gene mutations may be effecting your methylation cycle.
The methylation cycle is one of the most important factors as it relates to your overall health and wellbeing.
The methylation cycle is so important it can determine not only your level of health and wellbeing but it can also affect higher level concerns such as the production of your body's most powerful antioxidants, the production of essential universal methyl donors that provide powerful detoxification processes. The methylation cycle also controls how your body rebuilds itself and ultimately, can control how fast you age and even determine how long you will live.
The first thing to note is that your methylation report shows your genes in three colours, the green genes mean there is no mutation, a yellow gene is considered a heterozygous gene mutation and a red gene is considered a homozygous gene mutation.
Often a yellow or heterozygous gene mutation is considered a half copy, that’s why you will see a +/- sign beside it, while a red or homozygous gene mutations can be considered as a double copy with a +/+ sign beside it.
One of the important markers of methylation called homocysteine, can provide some great insights to the overall health of your methylation cycle and it's vital to understand that a homocysteine score that is too high can put you at risk of such things that can shorten your life span, equally a homocysteine score that is too low can also shorten your life span.
A good or optimal homocysteine score should be between 7 – 8 µmol/L. If your score is higher or lower, getting the methylation report can help to reveal why.
With the methylation report you can use your 23andme, Ancestry and many other raw data genetic files to create the methylation report.
With this powerful report you can gain significant insights to your genetic mutations that are associated directly with methylation and determine the correct treatment protocol to assist your methylation cycle and homocysteine to solve many health problems, improve detoxification and lower common risk factors.
The methylation report breaks up your genes into useable data, showing any gene mutations you may have in your methylation pathway that may be compromising your underlying health allowing you to solve current health problems and even getting ahead of a problem that is developing.
If you are trying to resolve an unknown health issue or solve problems associated with methylation, under-methylation and or over-methylation, the methylation report is a great way to help guide you to the associated gene mutations, it's powerful and life saving.
While the methylation report is easy to use, especially inside Sterling’s App, we do recommend getting assistance from a practitioner who understands epigenetics and nutrigenomics.
