In this video, we explore Jean-Bédel Bokassa, the self-proclaimed "Emperor of Central Africa" crowned on December 4, 1977, in an event reminiscent of Emperor Napoleon I's coronation in 1804. Bokassa, also dubbed the “Butcher of Bangui,” led the Central African Republic with extreme greed, violence, and grandiose delusions unparalleled among African leaders. Known for his towering rages, sentimentality, and even allegations of cannibalism, he epitomized the extravagant African tyrant during his reign.
