UN Security Council discusses situation in Ukraine
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) convenes in New York City on Wednesday, August 28, to address the current political and security situation in Ukraine. The meeting was requested by Slovenia and the US. An official from the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) will brief the Council. It follows Kiev's ongoing incursion into Russia's Kursk, reports of drone attacks by both sides and warnings from the IAEA about the risk of a 'nuclear accident' at Kursk NPP. Russia has also requested a meeting on Western weapons supplies to Kiev, scheduled for August 30
