The Beach Boys- All I Wanna Do ('A Video Offering')
Happy Birthday to the Beach Boys Sunflower album! Fifty years ago today, on August 31, 1970, the Beach Boys released 'Sunflower' for the Reprise Records label. It was their first album not made for Capitol Records. To commemorate this landmark album's Golden Anniversary (so appropriate for a Sunflower), I have created this slideshow video for the 'Sunflower' song 'All I Wanna Do'. The song was written by Mike Love and Brian Wilson and produced mainly by Carl Wilson. It is considered by many fans as a creative high water mark for the band, especially for songwriter and lead vocalist Mike Love. Thanks to Mike and all the Beach Boys who gave us this wonderful record: Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston.
Note: This video includes additional lyrics not included in the published sheet music for this song and should therefore not be considered official. These lyrics can be very hard to discern when listening because they are sung simultaneously with other lyrics. Although I've gone to great effort to determine what these lyrics are, listening to some lines literally hundreds of times, sometimes one syllable at a time, I will allow that some degree of error could exist. Maybe time will judge how well I have done in my attempt to determine exactly what these 'missing lyrics' are.
