Why different colour wires are used for electrical wiring?
Colour coding is followed for electrical wiring
(i) easy for electrician to identify the live wire
(ii) easy troubleshooting or rectifying the electrical problem
(iii) prevent accidental touch of live wire by electrician
Most of the countries in the world follow IEC standards for colour code while America and Canada follow NEC code.
The colour coding for dc power when we use battery or solar panel installation is different from the ac power.
For single phase ac and three phase ac supply depending on the voltage level - low voltage or high voltage different colours are used.
