BPM (Berkey, Pace, Miller) - Brucey Bassline (Live at Notsolatin)
I present to you, a cut from the debut performance of BPM, a jazz fusion trio I have co-started with my good friends in Philadelphia, featuring Jake Miller on guitar and Eli Pace on bass. We’ve been having a lot of fun putting together and rehearsing music, both covers and in this case, originals, for a few performances this summer. This particular tune is one that I wrote while studying at Temple University in Bruce Barth’s composition class (hence the title). Conceptually, we are playing in the style of artists like Wayne Krantz, Oz Noy, the Tony Williams Lifetime, Mike Stern and many others who we’ve found as inspirations along the way. There are a few other tunes I plan to edit and upload from this special first show at Notsolatin in Philadelphia, so stay tuned and enjoy!
