Wishing everyone a Happy Steely Dan Day (May 19th, get it May 19 = Hey 19) with the one and only track that the great Ed Greene played on for Steely Dan (that was actually released that is). I tried my best here to really replicate the fills that were played, most of which are only slight variations on the same couple of rhythms, which was a genius way to keep the drum part cohesive and not take away from the melody of the song while still setting up all the sections and figures of the arrangement properly. I love Ed's hi hat work on this song as it it very melodic and interwoven into the groove. This is something that I've been thinking about and working on more in my playing to develop my hi hat technique more, and something I plan on doing a video or two on very soon. Enjoy!
