Apple Variety Irish Peach
Introduced in 1820, said to be from Kilkenny, Ireland, but this is uncertain.
excellent when eaten ripe straight from the tree in late July of early August (here in southern Hampshire, our fruit ripens earlier than say the English Midlands) , but will not store-it quickly goes soft and dry after picking.
A really well flavoured very early ripening aple, but should only be considered as part of a balanced orchard, certainly not as your only tree.
