Rhinos🦏 have lived on earth for a very long time. They have a big head and short legs. After elephants, they are the second heaviest animals on land. Nevertheless, they can run very fast. Rhinos🦏 eat only plants. Preferably leaves, grasses and shrubs. And they love mud baths. Such a bath in the mud cools their big body when it is heated up by the hot sun. In the dry season, when there is hardly any water, they roll around in the sand.
This way they take care of their skin and get rid of annoying insects. Sometimes they are helped by a small bird, the oxpecker. It then sits on the rhino's🦏 back and picks up the small insects. Rhinos🦏carry one horn. Some also carry two horns, one large and one small. Because of their horns they are hunted by humans. This is because the horn can be used to carve things that can be sold. And some people believe that if you reduce their horns to powder, it will act like medicine. But that's not true. Because a rhino🦏 horn is simply made of the same material as your fingernail.
In a nutshell: Rhinos🦏 are hunted because of their horns. Because some want to earn money with it and or believe the horn powder would be a medicine.
