Fort Wagner Part 1 (NTW)
The Battle of Fort Wagner was fought o July 18th, 1863. The Union Army attempted to secure fort Wagner. This would make an attack on Morris Island easier for future operations against the CSA. The attack was lead by the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, under the command of Col. Robert Gould Shaw. This would be the first major action the 54th would take part in during the Civil War.
