How to String Train Tomatoes (String Trellis)
I started string training my tomatoes (which is now called a string trellis) in 2015. After trying cages, stakes, the Florida weave, voodoo dances - I finally found this method that commercial growers use. And I haven't wavered from it for a minute since.
A string trellis is just a string hung from a support. You wind the tomato stem up the string and that gives it all the support it needs.
There honestly is no better, easier, cheaper way to support tomatoes - especially heirlooms that can get 10' high or more.
You can build your structure however you want, but if you want plan right now, you can do it the way I do.
