When I first looked into installing an electric fence around my small garden I was baffled. All the instructions were for creating a fence for a huge pasture and they assumed I had some sort of working knowledge of electric fences and terminology. I did not. But I do now.
I first built this fence for around my corn patch to keep raccoons out. That was around 2017. I put it up every year once the corn has started to grow and take it down after I've harvested. It takes about 15 minutes to put it up or take it down and the whole thing including the unit, wire, stakes etc. will cost about $150 if you're in the US or about $200 if you're in Canada.
If your fence is any bigger than mine make sure to use use another grounding rod.
