How Parent Teach Kids to Set Effective Goals

1. Tell Your Child:
“Pretend your goal is to give a book report in front of your class.”
“Picture your goal clearly.”
“Don’t look at yourself.”
“Picture what you would see outward through your eyes.”
“To give your book report, you’ll see your class, not yourself.”
“Your class is enjoying your book report.”
2. Tell Your Child:
“Choose the best feeling for giving your book report.”
“Is it confidence, excitement, a calm feeling or something else?”
“Close your eyes and feel your chosen feeling.”
“Now, connect the feeling to your picture.”
3. Tell Your Child to:
“Create helpful words to connect the picture and the feeling.”
“Start with the words, ‘I am,’ as if it is happening right now.”
“I AM giving my book report with confidence.”
4. Tell Your Child to:
“Put the picture, feeling, and the words together in one moment.”
“See it, feel it, and say it before you fall asleep each night and again before you get out of bed in the morning.”
5. Tell Your Child:
“With your mojo mindset take the actions to make your goal come true.”
