Hoiho/Yellow-eyed penguins are the most common patient we see at Dunedin Wildlife Hospital. These beautiful birds are endangered and need all the help they can get!
This current patient nicknamed "Brighton" after the beach she was found on, has become a firm favourite with our vet team due to her curious and mischievous nature! She has been in hospital for a very long time recovering from severe, debilitating foot wounds that required multiple surgeries to repair.
The good news is she is well on the way to recovery and will hopefully be released back to the wild in the very near future!
