Jet patcher touches down in South Island
Central Otago roading crews have successfully trialled a new piece of kit to support maintenance activities in the region.
The Jet Patcher has been introduced to the 2022 / 2023 maintenance programme with significant results. One major benefit is it allows crews to do the job faster, minimising disruption to people's journeys.
The machine produces its own warm mix repair material which is then applied to the road using controls inside the cab of the truck. It means workers can perform minor road repairs such as potholes and edge-break, as well as small scale chipseal and asphalt applications, while safely inside their vehicle.
