The Witness (Hard Demon) by ocksie | Geometry Dash
Here's a cool unrated level I found yesterday that I wanted to share. I recognized this creator's name from their hard demon "sakura zensen", and this level definitely shows some improvement from when that was made. It is admittedly a bit amateurish in design, but I found that it made great use of 2.2's features, and the overall playing experience was very enjoyable. The visual style and atmosphere feels very reminiscent of the game Super Meat Boy, mainly due to all of the saws scattered around the level and the use of blood on the screen in the second half.
This is basically a two-part level and it looks mostly the same for its entire duration, but I don't think that brings the level down much. I think this level has a lot of personality regardless, and it does not conform much to the standards set by other levels I have been seeing recently. As for this level's gameplay, it is a bit strangely constructed, but it was overall super fun and consistent. The second half is notably more difficult than the first. If I had any real criticism, I think this level would've benefitted a lot from having more song representation in the form of color changes, movements, background effects, etc. (primarily in the first half). The addition of things like those can go a long way and could've made this level a bit less repetitive. Either way, I would love to see this level get more attention and hopefully get rated in the near future! (As of 6/26 this is now featured!)
