My Pet Pleco Fish (Common Plecostomus) (Pterygoplichthys Pardalis) Hypostomus Suckermouth Catfish
In this video I show some of the fish aquarium maintenance that is needed for my pet fish Pleco also known as a common plecostomus pterygoplichthys pardalis hypostomus suckermouth catfish. I change his water frequently (about 30 percent every 2 weeks) and that is the key to taking care of a Pleco. Also, the bigger the tank the better. I am in the process of upgrading to a 125 gallon freshwater tank. Most people are not aware that Pleco's need big tanks because they can get fairly big. Also, they require a balanced diet of algae wafers, fish flakes and occasional snacks such as cucumbers, vegetables and dehydrated baby shrimp and bloodworms sold at pet stores. I keep his water around 80 degrees which keeps away ick and he seems happier at that temperature. He also has a special lid to keep my cat Peanut butter from getting to him.
