Along with other performers from Buffalo Bill's Wild West, sharpshooter Annie Oakley appeared in front of the kinetograph camera developed by Edison's moving-picture research unit, led by William Kennedy Laurie Dickson. The walls of the Black Maria studio are clearly visible in shot.
