CAGED Octaves (and where to start learning your scales--lesson recap)
A common problem I hear a lot about is: "How can I learn the layout of notes in a scale on the guitar neck? It feels like I have a spotlight on only the single area I have learned..."
This is a complex topic, but I always start students off with learning all five of the CAGED octave shapes. Here's a quick recap video of a suggested CAGED routine for the beginner who knows one or two scale patterns.
