Making your arpeggio and scale drills fun (10 simple ideas!)
You don’t always have to make practice boring. This little jaunt through the musical landfill is just me running mi7b5 arps. Think of all the things you can do to push your creativity while trying to improve your visualization:
1. Keep a groove.
2. Change the position randomly.
3. Play different rhythms against the click.
4. Let go of the idea everything needs to be played perfectly (feel more, think less).
5. Insert randomness. Be curious.
6. Play multiple strings of the arp at once.
7. Create themes and see what happens.
8. Add open strings and ask yourself if they work, and if so, what are they in relation to the arp?
9. Shake your booty in that chair!
10. Set a timer with your phone. Structure is key!
