After another week of waking up low cortisol, I decided to set up ‘low cortisol’ stations around the house
Yesterday I woke up low, which for me presents as feeling like I’ve been hit by a train, inability to open my eyes and unable to speak, hard to break, low back pain and poor fine motor skills, so I stressed dosed and moved to the kitchen
I recently brought a day bed into the kitchen so I can rest as needed and yesterday after I moved over there I ended up severely low cortisol once again
It took so much time and energy to finally get my body to move to the cabinet and get my steroids and to grab my electrolyte buoy drops, but finally was able to regulate
To prevent these situations in the future I am setting myself up for support and safety, keeping things stocked and ready in all my resting spots
Low cortisol kit:
Buoy drops - perfect for quick electrolytes
Small dish of hydrocortisone
Bobo bar for a supportive carb to take with 💊
Fidgets for discretion and regulation
Heating pack to help alleviate pain
Phone charger to keep phone fully charged in case of an emergency 🚨
I’ll probably add some yarn and crochet hooks to each of these stations, but for now I know I’m safe and supported in multiple areas of the house
Does anyone else with #addisonsdisease wake up low cortisol in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning?
What are your go to tools or steps to help keep you safe and supported? Please share as I’d love to add more to my kits!
