Yesterday I had some dental work that sparked an interesting conversation regarding epinephrine and Adrenal Insufficney.

Last year I was getting a cavity filled when the dentist administered epinephrine and I immediately went into tremors, low cortisol and near a crisis. I tried to let the dentist know I was not okay Addison’s wise, but she and the assistant physically held me down and said “it’s all in your head, you’re just anxious.

This year I prepped with a new dentist, 10mg stress dose, CBD, crystals, medical paper work, an advocate and let the dentist know I don’t do well with epinephrine.

She used an alternative numbing agent and I was absolutely fine - no low cortisol symptoms, just a sore moth and head for the remainder of the day.

This sparked a conversation on Instagram from other Addisonians, sharing they have had a similar experience and that those of us with Adrenal Insufficiency cannot process epinephrine due to the adrenaline.

I’d love to ask others with AI their person experience and also see if we can help prevent others from low cortisol or a crisis.

Let me know your personal experience!

Light, love and all the spoons,
🙏🩷🥄
