Chattanooga Just Became a National Park City… But What Does That Actually Mean?
On April 23rd, 2025, Chattanooga, Tennessee became the first National Park City in the United States. Yes, really. National. Park. City. If you’re wondering what that is, you’re not alone — I had no clue either when I started filming this video. So we’re figuring it out together.
This city once held the not-so-coveted title of “America’s Dirtiest City” back in 1969 — thanks, EPA — but has come a long way since then. From industrial pollution to over 150 miles of hiking trails within 15 minutes of downtown, Chattanooga has transformed itself in a way that might actually impress you.
In this video, we explore: ✔ What a National Park City actually is
✔ Why Chattanooga got the title
✔ The city's environmental comeback story
✔ Hidden trails, sculpture parks, and Lookout Mountain views
✔ And whether this whole “National Park City” thing is a big deal… or just marketing fluff
Along the way, expect a little humor, a lot of facts, and probably some locals in the comments yelling at me for not visiting their favorite spot. - Look, I only had a few days in town. Calm down.
👇 Drop your thoughts in the comments: Is this a real accomplishment… or just a fancy title?
