Annual Wage Review decision 2017-18
The Fair Work Act 2009 requires the Fair Work Commission's Minimum Wage panel to conduct and complete a review of minimum wages in modern awards, and of the national minimum wage, each financial year.
This review directly affects over 2 million employees in Australia who are reliant on these minimum wages.
On 1 June 2018, the panel delivered a 3.5% increase to all modern award rates, to take effect from 1 July 2018. This video is of the panel handing down that decision.
