Annual Wage Review 2018-19 decision
The Fair Work Act 2009 requires the Fair Work Commission's Minimum Wage panel to conduct and complete a review of minimum wages in modern awards, and of the national minimum wage, each financial year.
This review directly affects around 2.2 million employees in Australia who are reliant on these minimum wages.
On 30 May 2019, the panel delivered a 3% increase to all modern award rates, to take effect from 1 July 2019. This video is of the panel handing down that decision.
