Alan Strauss - Bringing Joy and Kindness Back into Education
Alan Strauss is the Dad of 2 amazing humans. He is a proud Superintendent of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District. He was Connecticut Principal of the Year 2019 and recipient of the Isabelle Farrington Education Outstanding Alumni Award Sacred Heart University 2020 and was a 2022 Massachussetts Principal of the Year Finalist.
Alan is a student centered, teacher advocate and educational leader who believes in Maslow before Bloom, building relationships, empowering others and developinga a more holistic approach to teaching and learning that addresses the whole person, not just their intellectual capabilities.
Two words guide his educational philosophy, “It’s all about joy and kindness.’’
