This time I want to show you a trick to increase the video performances of your Linux virtual machines (and not just Linux) on Virtualbox.
By default the "Settings window" does not allow you to increase the VRAM above 128 MB, while 3D is only possible with the VMSVGA graphics controller.
I said "Settings window" on purpose, because it is possible to change the settings also from the main Virtualbox window, if not with all the parameters, at least with those that interest us most!
Here my settings on Virtualbox:
Graphics Controller = VboxVGA (the one supported from Virtualbox 5.x and older);
Video Memory = 256 MB (the maximum possible for now, for all VMs clients);
Accelleration = 3D (normally the Settings windows doesn't allows you to use both this and alternative GC to VMSVGA).
You can also use VboxSVGA instead, but VboxVGA is almost good for Linux.
NOTE: to keep these changes permanent, do not open the Settings window by mail, in this case reset everything from the main window, as in this video.
Have fun! ;)
VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. See "About VirtualBox" for an introduction.
Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x and 4.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, and OpenBSD.

Linux distros are the best for those who want to join KaiOS development.
KaiOS is a new operating system for ARM chipsets, running on a Linux kernel. It is written in Javascript, HTML and CSS and is oriented towards smart feature phones. In fact, it works well on 512 MiB of RAM or less. Some of the most popular KaiOS phones are the Nokia 8110 4G, 2720 Flip and 800 Tough, Jio Phone, Positivo P70S, Orange Sanza and other new Energizer phones.
Kaiostech recently partnered with Mozilla, the creator of Firefox OS and the Gecko engine on which KaiOS is based.
Developing it is an opportunity for those who want a more open source alternative to Android and iOS in the mobile market. Do you want to know more about KaiOS phones? Here is a complete list for developers: https://ivan-hc.github.io/bananahacke...
