The Pursuer - Dark Souls II
My fight against the Pursuer! After dying a lot, I finally beat him. It was a really nice boss fight.
If you need advice for fighting the Pursuer: Do not try to parry, dodge a lot (and always to his right side) and try to position yourself well. You should not stand too close and should have room to evade his attacks. I recommend using a heavy weapon (wielded with both hands) and only striking once. Healing yourself is not impossible, but it is not easy. Forget about the Estus Flask and use the lifegems, if necessary.
I do not know if anyone will believe me (or even read this ;-) ), but I struggled for at least 2.5 hours continuously! I just could not give up. I never felt cheated, it always seemed possible and I had a lot of souls trapped with that guy - it was a very rewarding fight.
I was very lucky in the end. Just when I tried applying magic to my weapon I was victorious.
The music is a slightly edited version of the track 'The Pursuer' from the official soundtrack. I extended it a bit and changed the ending. I did not like the fading out, it had to be ending suddenly. I was really lucky again that it turned out to fit perfectly with my fight.
This video is not upscaled. The game was recorded at 2160x1440 and uploaded with that resolution. The hard drive had a hard time during recording with that much data and sometimes the framerate unfortunately drops below 30 per second.
