Lights, Camera, Open: The Return of the River Oaks Theatre
In 1939, the River Oaks Theatre opened its doors. A little more than 80 years later, it would become a destitute historic landmark following failed lease negotiations. Closed and shuttered, and with no feature presentations.
But now the popcorn is popping, and the theater has reopened with a newly renovated interior and programming that should appeal to all generations of film lovers.
Spectrum Fusion was there for the grand reopening of the River Oaks Theatre and got plenty of reactions from those with Arthouse Houston (formerly Friends of the River Oaks Theatre), a community-based nonprofit dedicated to joyously enriching and preserving Houston’s artistic film community and arthouse spaces.
Spectrum Fusion is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of adults on the autism spectrum by unleashing their full potential and providing new connections and opportunities for them to bring their talents and gifts to society.
