In this video we will focus on calculating the age of the universe, using the Lambda CDM model. Many people probably have heard some number for the age of the universe, but where does this number come from? How is this number calculated? The purpose of this video is to show how to obtain this result using calculus, a few approximations and the latest data from the Planck satellite. This will hopefully demystify this number, and it is a good example of an application of the Lambda CDM model. Some of the math will maybe be a bit technically for many viewers, but the idea is to make the computation transparent, so it is clear to all that there is no magic to this computation. If you have a very advanced calculator, it can also solve the problem much quicker for you! But that's enough talking for now, let's get on with the video.
