Accident on us20 and Winnebago in 8K
This footage I took at 5:39 pm, Monday, Sept. 27 . Depending on what news article you read the accident happened around 4 or 5 pm. You would think they would get the time right in the news article since 13 KREX was there filming.
According to what information I could find, 31-year-old Matthew of Mount Morris was driving his red GMC Acadia Northbound on Winnebago Road. He got married the year before to the love of his life. I'm sure over the weekend they had a great 1st anniversary with a lot of drinking.
We had a 67-year-old truck driver from Monona, Iowa, going eastbound on U.S. Route 20, with a Black Kenworth pulling a hopper bottom. The Semi Driver failed to stop at Winnebago Corner light and collided with Matthew.
Matthew suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. I assume he died with his seat belt on, other wise the news would of been all over that, saying only if he was only wearing a seat belt. No charges have yet been announced against the driver of the Black Kenworth semi truck as of putting this video together.
