Serengeti Expedition 2016 - Episode 1
Our team ventured to Tanzania in September of 2016. While the core focus of the trip was a self-drive overlanding and camping safari for Wildlife photography, we also trained for a mountain climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. As the team leader and driver of truck 1, I often took a bit of video with my smartphone as the real photographers were at work. The result . . . . 500ish short videos that would likely only get deleted or take up valuable storage space on my computer. Instead, the short clips are being assembled into actual episodes (with my own variety of very amateur editing) in between other tasks and events here at home. While the production value may not be that of something you'll find on the NatGeo channel, we hope you enjoy these nonetheless.
Episode 1 covers the first two days of our arrival into JRO airport and the gathering of our safari vehicles . . . as well as the subsequent first two days of our adventure in Tanzania. We travel from Arusha, through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, make an unscheduled overnight at Olduvai Camp in the Great Rift Valley, and ultimately conclude this episode at Pimbi Public Camp Site in Seronera, within the Serengeti National Park.
