Our team ventured to Tanzania in September of 2016. While the core focus of the trip was a self-drive overlanding and wildlife photography safari, we also trained for a mountain climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. As the team leader and driver of truck 1, I often took a bit of video with my smartphone as the real photographers were at work. The result . . . . 5+ hours of many many short videos that would likely only get deleted or take up valuable storage space on my computer. Instead, the short clips are being assembled into actual episodes (with my own variety of very amateur editing) in between other tasks and events here at home. While the production value may not be that of something you'll find on the NatGeo channel, we hope you enjoy these nonetheless.
Episode 3 covers days 7, 8, and 9 of our overlanding adventure in Northern Tanzania. We travel from Kogetende in the northern-most reaches of the Serengeti Park and have a great stop at the Lobo Wildlife lodge for lunch. We spend a night in real beds with showers, laundry, and food service at the Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camps as we drive South. After recouping at Mbuzi Mawe for a night in the rain storms, we camp again south of Seronera in the Moru Kopjes area and then exit the Serengeti to make our way past Lake Manyara, Karatu, and Mto Wa Mbu Village to the Kware campsite in Tarangire National Park.
