Speedflying speed comparison between the speedwings line 11, line 13 and line 15 from flare at 80kg total flight weight (my weight + equipment + glider).
We tested it and a Line 15 at 100kg flight weight is way faster than a line 10 with 70kg. So weight is king!
I was extremely surprised from the performance of the Line 15, it still manages to compete well with it’s smaller brothers in terms of speed when flying proximity.
This must be given due to the fact that with smaller sizes you need to apply more brake on flatter parts; while the 15 can go hands up most of the time and need to make more turns which builds up energy.
The dive with hands up on the other hand is much stronger on smaller sizes, on the bigger ones you need to roll more to loose height, especially on steeper parts.
While on the landing, if you DON'T build up energy and just come in flying straight, I haven't noticed crazy differences in terms of speed and how long you can flare it. They all have very long flaring potential, even the 15!
