I have created a unique style of magic squares that have four 4x4 subsquares. The magic sum of an 8x8 magic square is 260 and whereas the magic sum of each 4x4 magic square is 130.
There is also a color code involved in this. The box rule states that the center 2x2 of any 4x4 sub-square gives you the magic sum of 130.
Indians have been pioneers in this branch of mathematics. Indians were not only proficient in the magic squares, but they were also proficient in several branches of mathematics, like the quadratic equation, trigonometry, calculus, etc.
